Personal Information

  • Title: Artist Educator Arts Administrator
  • I have always been a painter. Since a young age, I expressed passion for the arts and have committed myself to its exploration. Integrating my love for painting with engagement with the community, and teaching, has been an extremely self fulfilling journey. I have the honor of being a mother to two wonderful boys, which has only increased my love for creatively engaging with the next generation. I have always been inspired and connected to a sense of a natural place and after many travels around the world, Hawaii, is where I've found the most respect and peace. I am eager to contribute to such a beautiful community and place.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY & AREAS OF INSTRUCTION

Studio teaching centered on a warm, inclusive, and rigorous environment in which students are treated as developing artists. Areas of instruction include life drawing, observational drawing, painting, watercolor, composition, color, critique, studio practice, visual development, and individualized artistic direction. Teaching emphasizes experimentation, reflection, confidence, technical growth, and adapting instruction to different learning styles.

HAWAI'I RELOCATION & AVAILABILITY

Available to relocate to O'ahu full-time beginning mid-January 2027. Will be in O'ahu in November 2026 (exact dates to be finalized) and available to meet in person or interview during that visit. Long-term relocation is connected to developing an artistic and teaching practice rooted in Hawai'i's relationship with nature, place, and community. Will return to Maryland for the required MICA third-year intensive June 15–July 22, 2027. The timing of this intensive, including the option to defer the year by one year, can be discussed and coordinated so that it does not disrupt my first year in the position.
