From an early age, I have been motivated to improve the human environment around me. Each stage of my professional experience has built upon the last, culminating in my latest professional experience as a Facility Manager. My Latino Cultural heritage has given me great sensitivity to others, with strong communication and advocacy skills. My Landscape Architecture education has provided a solid basis for me to optimize the relationship of the site to structures, the comfort and safety of occupants of buildings, and create new and exciting outdoor experiences and spaces. My experience as a City Planner has been helpful in further organizing the Facilities Department to become more agile and skilled at customer response. As a quick processor/synthesizer of disparate needs, the gardens and interior spaces I’ve designed, built, and project managed at SSIS are integrated and have greatly enhanced the campus experience. I have an extensive background in facility and project management, having successfully led a team of 60 professionals in areas of grounds, security, cleaning, and maintenance. My expertise includes managing multimillion-dollar budgets, developing strategic facility plans, and implementing safety and sustainability practices in every project. With experience in design review and legal decision-making, I'm known for transforming spaces and achieving remarkable results.
