- I was assigned to the Patrol Division in March of 2020, performing everyday job-related tasks as a first responder. I also served as a field training officer and was responsible for all records pertaining to each of my trainees. Due to my experience in investigations and as an evidence custodian, I was reassigned in January 2021 to the investigative division.
- Currently, I still serve the Ruston Police Department as a senior investigator and evidence custodian. I recently received my certification for Officer Involved Shootings through a certified course recognized by POST. I have also been involved in numerous internal affairs investigations and I am certified as a homicide detective through POST. My case load is in primarily felony only and ranges from financial crimes, property crimes, violent crimes and sexual assaults.

- My job duties centered around developing new business with detention centers located in Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi for inmate commissary and inmate phone services. This was a position that required extensive travel in all three states most every week. I dealt directly with the Sheriff and Warden at each detention center to ensure that our products reached their inmates on schedule, updating not only contracts but ensuring competitive prices for our products and services. I also participated in multiple conferences in different states to further build my territory and relationships with customers.

- Narcotics Division
- I was assigned to the narcotics division for approximately 5 years. My work activities included undercover assignments, all narcotics related incidents, working directly with confidential informants, purchasing narcotics, preparing felony drug cases for prosecution, working directly with other agencies, both state and federal, not only in the apprehension of subjects with felony warrants, but assisting in narcotic investigation outside of my jurisdiction.
- Criminal Investigative Division
- I was re-assigned to this division in 2013 until I resigned in 2017. My work duties included working directly with victims of crimes, prepare felony cases for prosecution, working directly with the District Judge and the District Attorney’s office, over the evidence/property room as the evidence custodian. Worked directly with other jurisdictions when needed. I received training and certificates in death investigations, interview and interrogation, and am recognized as a certified latent prints examiner. I had been promoted to the rank of Sergeant while serving in the narcotics division. While in CID, I received one disciplinary action and was demoted to the rank of Corporal.
Patrol Officer

- Worked 12-hour shifts, primarily on nights from 6pm to 6am. Duties included dispatched assignments ranging from misdemeanors to major felonies as well as patrol activities (traffic enforcement, burglary patrol, selective patrol). Very active in DWI investigations during this time and recognized as an expert witness in DWI testimony. Worked closely with other local and state agencies in the areas of criminal patrol resulting in the seizures of narcotics and numerous felony drug arrests. Served as a K-9 officer for approximately 4 years and was responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, training and deployment/use of the K-9. Was a Field Training Officer for approximately 2 years and was responsible for the training and record keeping of new officers. Resigned my position as a corporal in 2008.
