Summary

With my extensive experience, I have a strong understanding of the packaging industry having worked with customers in a variety of end markets. This has provided me with an appreciation of the important details to the customer. My mentality is to do "whatever it takes" (WIT) to meet my customers' needs. I see myself as the customers' representative within our company. I am also a proponent of team selling - and seek to have technical experts within our company to be included in the selling process.

The leading manufacturer of premium folding cartons for the beauty & cosmetic industry from their Roanoke, VA plant. Arkay focuses on a variety of premium decoration capabilities with a strong quality and customer service process to service this demanding customer base.

  • My primary responsibility was new business development and I opened 6 accounts - including a new market for Arkay with premium spirits business.
  • Also responsible for account management - and I was able to successfully negotiate a three-year contract without a price decrease by implementing a VMI Program on one of the accounts.

The third largest vertically integrated packaging company in the US with two recycled paperboard mills and six folding carton plants in North America. PaperWorks uses its vertical integration to secure business from many of the larger CPG companies with a focus on packaged food products.

  • Primary responsibility was the account management for a $12 million annual sales territory serving larger customers that included Clorox and Colgate.
  • Successfully negotiated multi-year contracts with my three largest customers prior after implementing mid-contract price increases during inflationary Covid period.
  • Also responsible for new business development bringing in $2.5 million in new business with customers that included GSK oral care (now Haleon), Hickory Foods (Bubba Burgers), and Bistro MD (frozen prepared meals).

Prior to be sold to Graphic Packaging, Americraft was the largest independent (non-integrated) folding carton company in the US. Americraft had six plants throughout the US - with sales teams linked to each plant. I was responsible for selling for the Winston-Salem, NC plant.

  • Responsible for new business development and account management for existing customers that included Signature Foods (cake/icing products).
  • Generated over $1MM in new business sales from over 20 new customers that included Bistro MD (frozen prepared meals), Carib Graphics (premium spirits), Diet to Go (frozen prepared meals), JADS (personal care), Salazon Chocolate, and Under Armour.
