Firefighter on the structural firefighting apparatus, the Aircraft Rescue Firefighting apparatus, as well as the Aerial Ladder truck. Periodically rotated between the three stations on Fort Stewart, one of which is at Wright Army Airfield. Responded to fire alarms, motor vehicle accidents, vehicle fires, structure fires, aircraft stand-byes and emergencies. Completed live structure fire / aircraft fire burns. Participated in both hands-on and classroom fire department training. Trained with all equipment on our emergency vehicles. Obtained my Driver/Operator Pumper certification. Completed driver's training on the structural firefighting apparatus, the Aircraft Rescue Firefighting apparatus, and the Aerial Ladder truck. Operated mobile air carts to fill SCBA bottles. Obtained my Fire Instructor 1 certification. Remained proficient on my certifications by participating in refresher training given by my Captain or Lieutenant. Built a strong work relationship with the DOD civilians on my shift. Obtained my Mobile Water Supply certification. Performed drafting operations on the civilian apparatus, as well as our Army Tactical Firefighting Truck. Obtained my Inspector 1 certification.

Acted as the Incident Commander in multiple training scenarios. Taught basic firefighting skills through PowerPoint presentations. Responded to my first fully involved structure fire while with this department. Participated in community functions, such as boot drives. Received medical refresher training. Operated the pumps on both of our structural firefighting engines. Set up Landing Zone's for life star helicopters. Trained with all equipment on our emergency vehicles. Formed close work relationships with the volunteers.
