Summary

I am an experienced researcher with a bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences from UC Irvine. I have more than 3 years of laboratory experience working with mammalian cell culture and biological assays. Experienced with reading/executing SOPs, basic laboratory techniques such as PCR, cell culture, and spectroscopy, to name a few. As a published researcher, I am skilled with citation managers such as Endnote/Mendeley, GraphPad Prism software, and animal handling. Additionally, I have experience working in a diagnostic clinical laboratory setting, working to diagnose patients with COVID-19.

Extracurriculars

Presentations: Organizing MMI Seminar Organized an MMI seminar via zoom to help students learn more about  the structure of a MMI in pharmacy school and medical school and  how to prepare for it.

Pre-Pharmacy Mentorship Program (PSMP):

(September 2019-June 2022)

I mentored incoming UCI students and helped them address any concerns they may have including coursework, career planning, building friendships, and adapting to the college environment.

Effective Altruism at UCI (Director of Media):

(September 2020- June 2021)

I was the Director of Media for EAUCI, where we seek to do the most  good in the most effective manner. My responsibilities include planning  board meetings, designing and maintaining websites and social media  presence, and spreading awareness about effective altruism.

  • Arete Fellowship: Along with my board members, I hosted the Arete Fellowship which is a series of 10-week discussions supplemented with readings on the use of evidence and reasoning to do the most good.
  • Speaker series: I created flyers, social media updates, informational brochures, and recruited speakers to effective altruism to speak about EA-related topics such as antibiotic resistance, nuclear safety, etcetera.

Effective Altruism at UCI (President):

(September 2021-June 2022)

I was the president of Effective Altruism at UC Irvine. I facilitated  collaborations with Effective Altruism organization, stayed in contact  with CEA (Center for Effective Altruism) and OFTW (One for the World),  and recruited and distributed tasks to the EAUCI team. I created board  positions, organized meetings, events, and finances, and facilitated  collaborations with other EA groups, and co-facilitated of Intro to Effective Altruism.
