I am bound by three key principles that shape a strong and positive campus culture.

• Clear, Setting Clear Expectations: Students, like all individuals, flourish when they have a clear understanding of boundaries and expectations. I prepare and explain academic and behavioral expectations using easy-to-understand procedures, routines, and "what to do" directions in all spaces.
• Consistent, Maintaining Consistency in Responses: Students experience a spectrum of emotions. While all emotions are valid, not all behaviors are productive. Consistency in how these behaviors are addressed helps to ensure fairness and provides students with the security of knowing that our campuses operate with a sense of justice and equity.
• Connected, Building Positive Relationships: Students, like all individuals, thrive when they feel a communal connection to their school and can rely on meaningful relationships with the adults at the school. I prioritize positive interactions and relationships rooted in the humanity and belonging of each student.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Advocate for and champion diverse learners, ensuring their growth and preparing them for post-secondary success
• Accommodate and modify curriculum to meet student needs and support access to the general education curriculum for students in co-taught settings. In my three years a teacher, I have co-taught 8 sections of Algebra 2, 2 sections of Algebra 1, and 1 section of Environmental Science
• Create, accommodate, and modify curriculum to align to IEP goals for all my classes. I also have taught one section of Instructional Algebra 2 (self-contained)
• Provide instruction that is culturally responsive and culturally sustaining
• Use data to refine lessons and inform instructional practices
• Develop IEP goals and objectives that address students’ needs and progress monitor progress. I have written over 41 IEP's.
• Design, implement, and support behavior management plans
• Execute Noble’s Community Pact with fidelity in order to create a positive, structured learning environment where students are safe and supported and empowered to grow academically

Special Education Teacher: Teach for America, Practicum and Pre-Service June 2023-July 2023

· Selected as one of 5,300 accepted candidates out of 45,000 applicants to teach in an urban or rural school district across the nation

· Completed an intensive 160+ virtual educator training program

· Developed long-term lesson plans based on Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and aligned to Common Core Standards

· Constructed classroom management systems and procedures rooted in social-emotional competencies and trauma informed practices

· Engaged in professional development workshops on Culturally Responsive Pedagogy, learner variability and differentiated instruction, understanding systems of oppression and anti-biased teaching practices
