Summary

Soprano and North Carolina resident, Christian Powell, is known for her rich, strong wide-ranging tone and captivating stage presence. During her undergraduate studies at the University of Mount Olive in Mount Olive, North Carolina, Christian performed with UMO Opera as the witch in Hansel and Gretel and was a part of the University Concert Choir as an Alto, Chamber Choir as a Tenor, Jazz Band a Soprano and Symphonic Band where she played the Tuba. She has made her mark in the community by singing with the First United Methodist of Mount Olive since she was a Freshman. She is currently employed with Pitt County Schools as a K-5 General music teacher at South Greenville Elementary. She also teaches private voice lessons at The Art House in Greenville NC as their primary voice instructor. Christian also participates in Greenville Choral Society and The Memorial Baptist Church choir in Greenville as a Choral scholar. Christian often sings as a soloist throughout North Carolina and as a background singer for various ceremonies, concerts and events. Solo performances include singing for UMO Musical Theater Showcase, Vivaldi's Gloria in D, ECU Opera and Messiah.
