Christian Jones

-As an initial crew member onboard a nuclear submarine I directly
contributed to the development and testing of numerous ship
critical systems, including but not limited to the ships primary
control system, the military radar, and the interior communications
system.
-I personally oversaw and developed ALL of the complex navigation
plans which resulted in the submarine safely completing all of its
missions from initial Sea Trials in 2008 to its first deployment in
2013.
-My expertise of ships systems and leadership was directly
responsible for the development and qualification of numerous
junior personnel years ahead of others in their pay grade.
-As the Training Petty Officer I personally developed a training plan
that directly resulted in an increase in knowledge and proficiency
within the division.
-My leadership and mentoring led to the submarine being graded at
ABOVE STANDARDS in open ocean navigation prior to deployment
and I was personally recognized as the best Quartermaster of the Watch onboard.
-Due to my hard work and meticulous attention to detail I was
advanced to Petty Officer First Class after being in the
Navy for just under 7 years.

-While aboard I,

• Fixed circuit boards and wire harness problems using schematics, wiring diagrams, and testing instruments.
• Used diagnostic and testing processes in collaboration with product engineers to identify, define, and solve development issues.
• Assembled, tested and maintained components and systems for high-performing electronics.
• Monitored and tested equipment performance to diagnose and resolve problems.
• Diagnosed and repaired complex faults within target timeframes.
• Performed acceptance testing and measurements on electronic components and assemblies to verify system compliance.
• Led preventative maintenance and inspections to limit electrical issues.
• Managed reactive repairs and emergency maintenance for varied electronic devices.
• Modified, maintained, or repaired electronics equipment or systems to achieve proper functioning.
• Used information in technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals to understand operations and make successful repairs.
• Interpreted scale drawings of new commissions to determine layout of materials and equipment.
• Devised and implemented updates and resolutions for handling risks, maintaining compliance and improving designs.
