  • Facilitate the handling of time sensitive requests such as CAFs (Community Action Forms), proclamations, fee waivers, and other confidential documents including Public Information Requests.

  • Coordinated, planned, and developed programs and activities that addressed the economic, social service, and public safety needs of the LGBTQIA+, immigrant/refugee, and older adult (senior) communities.
  • Assisted in the establishment and training of Texas' first Safe Place Initiative; a free and voluntary partnership with the business, faith, and non-profit communities that plays a vital role in assisting victims of bias-motivated incidents and addressing the under-reporting of hate crimes.
  • Provided security assessments and recommendations for homeowner associations and commercial properties.
  • Provided education on Austin 3-1-1 and 9-1-1 reporting systems, to include the use of the City's iSpeak Program - focus on language interpretation/translation and equal language access.
  • Acted as a liaison between the police department and other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, and the city's LGBTQ Quality of Life Advisory Commission and the Commission on Aging.

  • From October 2008 to December 2015, I took on the role as Police Explorer where I rose through the ranks and eventually held the highest position as Major. I was responsible for approximately fifty youth for both North and South posts.
  • As Major, I provided orientation to new Police Explorers and their families, did inspections before every meeting, and represented the Department at local, state, and national competitions.
  • From May 2011 to January 2016, I became an Intern for the Department's Homicide, Cold Case, Robbery, and Sex Crime units.
  • From January 2016 to July 2021, I took on the role as Associate Advisor.
  • As an Associate Advisor, I drafted and implemented lesson plans and hands-on training for the youth in the Program.
  • Strengthened community-youth relations through volunteering and providing safety fairs, to include education on home/auto burglary prevention and VIN etching events.
  • Assisted with recruiting events at local public schools, fundraisers for the Program and and other non-profit organizations like the 100 Club of Central Texas, and keeping youth safe at major events like National Night Out, Run with the Heroes 5K, Operation Blue Santa, and Trail of Lights, to name a few.
