Tasks included washing all dishes that are circulated through the restaurant. The entire restaurant is dependent on clean utensils and dishes to serve customers to not risk any health and safety violations
My position was maintaining a safe and ethical environment at the student recreation centers across the university campus. I would open and close the facility. I was the first responder in any emergency within the building except inside the pool, including the use of CPR or Heimlich maneuvers if necessary. I answered questions about the facility and would enhance participants' experience with conversations and warm welcomes.
My position here was to maintain the workflow and customer experience at the restaurant. Because employees here did not have specific roles, we would all be tasked with cooking, cleaning, customer service, and maintaining a positive and effective work environment.
This position included serving customers food, cleaning, and occasionally cooking food. I would also open and close the restaurant.
I was tasked with opening and closing the pool and monitoring participants. This included checking the chemical composition of the water often, cleaning the pool deck and bathrooms, maintaining safety in and outside of the pool, and being the first responder in case of emergency. With the job and more recent jobs as well, I am CPR certified with the American Red Cross Association
Community is a fundamental aspect of my life. Within my Yoga community I am always learning new cultural practices, which has enhanced my life greatly and provided me with a sense of value. Through this community, I have learned about Hinduism and its principles. This led me to be invited to celebrate our local Diwali festival, as well as practice devotional Bhakti with the leader of "EDGE," an education program for women's empowerment in India. I also am a regular volunteer at F.A.R.M Cafe in Boone, NC, which is a restaurant designed through donations to "feed all regardless of means." These local communities have provided me with fulfillment and love for sharing smiles and purpose with those around me. I am fascinated by learning about other people and how they express life through their own unique perspectives.
