Provided clerical and administrative support to Deportation Officers (DO), Mission Support Specialist (MSS) and other personnel who make recommendations consistent with established practice

  • Review case records of detainees and recognize and correct inconsistent data
  • Assistant MSS with APCAS, sunflower inventory and office audits
  • MSS backup support when MSS is on leave
  • Process and review the officer's notes to input into the appropriate support systems
  • Review all 1-862(Notice to Appear) for correct charges in accordance with regulations and instructions
  • Prepare and forward records of proceedings to the Office of Immigration Review or Immigration Judge for scheduling of removal or exclusion hearings
  • Access several database systems to locate and identify aliens by which retrieving or obtaining information from service and non-service records check such as ENFORCE, EARM, Choice Point, Clear, Claims, Accurint, CIS, NCIC, TECS and other systems
  • Review removal cases to determine the status of proceedings and take appropriate action so the case may be closed or re-directed for appropriate actions
  • Closely examine and review documentation in the case file to determine last action accomplished and update accordingly
  • Gather, research and analyze various types of data received from federal, local, state and other agencies
  • Assist coordinating office moves and telephone services
  • Assist as a translator while DO's conducts interview, takes statements or writes reports
  • Assist MSS analyzing operational or administrative programs
  • Assist administrative staff with programs by executing specific projects such as updating spreadsheets and data reports

  • Organizes and maintain a complete file system, index file system, records and statistics

  • Receive and processes all asylum and asylum relate applications
  • Examines applications and supporting documents to determine eligibility and completeness

  • Processes Asylee / Refugee petitions for family members overseas by notifying the state department visa office to send appropriate cables to posts abroad
