DIRECTIVE 32- LANGUAGE ACCESS PLAN

Contributed extensive research in response to Executive Directive 32-City of Los Angeles Language Access Plan, set forth by former Mayor Eric Garcetti. I served as a member of the LAPD workgroup in collaboration with the mayor's office and numerous community advocates to form recommendations within our department to improve the accessability of language services offered to the non-English-speaking community members of Los Angeles.

COMMAND OFFICERS ASSOCIATION NOTIFICATION POLICY WORKSHOP

While assigned to the administrative office, I was one of two Police Service Representatives to attend a four-day workshop held by the Command Officers Association (COA) amongst a small, intimate group of Commanding Officers ranging in rank from Captain III to Deputy Chief. Objective: Rewrite policies and procedures to minimize redundancy and unnecessary manpower in the LAPD's

Notifications process. I was given the task of scribe, which required me to use active listening and fast typing skills to notate and track as an open-room discussion took place throughout hundreds of miscellaneous incident scenarios

CIVIL UNREST PROTESTS

Amidst the George Floyd Civil Unrest Protests, I was assigned to Operations Valley Bureau Command Post as a tactical dispatcher. My duties included scanning multiple radio frequencies and monitoring the incident queue for detection of riot-related activity and reporting this info to the Command Staff. It is also the responsibility of the tactical dispatcher to create and track a chronolog, documenting any and all significant events in chronological order. I was later given a written commendation for my role in this major event.

CIVIL UNREST ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY

On the one-year anniversary of the George Floyd Civil Unrest Protests, I was assigned to the Operations West Bureau Command Post as a tactical dispatcher, sitting alongside commanders from the LAPD Air Support Division, LAPD Special Investigations Section, LAFD, National Guard, and others. It was my responsibility to monitor multiple radio frequencies as well as the in-room discussions, recording all noteworthy occurrences in chronological order. I also helped to set up a mobile field force display board and make necessary updates as field officers moved around and incidents occurred in real time. I was later given a written commendation for my role in this major event.
