As a stay-at-home parent, I have been out of the workforce for several years, during which I have contributed to my community through service and have continuously developed my organizational, social, and leadership skills. I have instilled in my four children a love of learning and exposed them to a wide range of cultures and opportunities. My experience in employment has given me confidence in my problem-solving and people skills. With over a dozen years of performing experience I would love to be a storyteller. A library would be my ideal work setting at this stage of my life, and I am confident I would be a strong contributing member of your team.
Received a Certificate of Achievement from the Army for exceptional community service. Organized and lead a weekly volleyball league with the best turnout of any ongoing community events at the time. Volunteered over 50 hours at our community's Swap Shop, a free store for residents. Led and instructed children, teenagers, and adults in church leadership positions.
Designed and conducted my own Spanish classes, including an eight-week crash course for adults and children, a semester-long Spanish 1 class for homeschoolers, and an online conversation group. Created curriculum, organized and planned class meetings, taught engaging lessons, and planned and executed a cultural celebration with native Spanish-speaking volunteers at the end of the class.
Obtained my teaching license through the Alternative Route to Licensure program while teaching third grade at Moroni Elementary. Dove into teaching with little training or experience, and learned by my own hard work to manage a classroom. Formed bonds with students and teachers and gained respect as a beloved and effective teacher.
Worked several summers and one winter at my family's hotel. Provided friendly customer service. As the only worker on duty, developed independent problem-solving skills. Cleaned the hotel and made some simple emergency repairs. Learned computer system and ran night audits.
