Volunteer Experience

I have been volunteering as the assistant regional commissioner, region coach administrator, and coach trainer for the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) Region 153, since 2016.

As the assistant regional commissioner I help institute region policies, interface with other AYSO regions, help recruit children to play soccer as well as recruit adult and youth volunteers to fill the many volunteer roles that are necessary to make the region run. I also assist with scheduling the season, work with the City of Tucson Sports Unit to schedule fields, and attend monthly board meetings.

As the coach administrator and trainer, I recruit coaches (mostly parents) to coach soccer.  I also make sure all volunteers fill out the volunteer application and submit a background check.  I form all teams for every division.  I coordinate a pre-season coaches meeting to ensure all coaches are oriented to the mission, vision, values, and philosophies of AYSO, and show them how to conduct their own team meetings at the start of the season.  I schedule and teach all coach courses from our 3-year-old division to 18-year-old divisions to ensure that all volunteer coaches are prepared and confident.
