I have been a practicing Registered Nurse for over 30 years. Of which, I have spent 29 in the Emergency Department setting. I started my nursing career as a Med-Surg Nurse, where I was previously a nursing assistant in a small county hospital in Davie County. After a few years (1995), I added Davis Community Hospital (ER, Tele, ICU) to my job list. (1995-2001) Then, in 1996, I began at Iredell Memorial Hospital, which I worked for 27 years in the Emergency Department. I then did a few ER travel nursing contracts. Now, I am currently working at Atrium Health Wake Forest - Davie Emergency Room, PRN - FT going on 7 years.
I have seen nursing evolve and grow in many ways over the years; but I feel like one thing has remained the same, my attitude. I feel like it's a privilege to be a nurse and my patients deserve to be treated like I would want a member of my family treated.
As a seasoned practicing nurse, I feel competent in my performance of patient care in high-volume emergency room environments. I currently perform in staff and charge nurse roles; setting the standard consistent with the hospital's mission and nursing philosophy. I maintain a high level of accountability professionally and clinically. Not only am I an exemplary patient care advocate but demonstrate above standard patient care.
I feel like I am resourceful along with accustomed to treating diverse patients while managing dynamic conditions. I offer excellent clinical knowledge and judgment combined with strong documentation and problem solving skills. I am well-versed in managing emergent cases with grace and efficiency.
