When Northpointe closed I transitioned to Westpointe with the same job responsibilities while I got my employees and residents settled, however my position is unnecessary and I've decided to return to the reason I became a nurse 23 years ago- caring for infants and children with medical needs at home.
When my daughter was born I moved to Illinois with my husband and had the pleasure of staying home to raise my daughter until the pandemic. When my husband was laid off we moved back to Pensacola and returned to the family business I had run from 2002-2007 as an Assistant Administrator at Northpointe Retirement Community.
In college I worked as a unit clerk in the NICU for four years. I observed parents at their most terrified, being discharged from the hospital with a medically complex infant and no medical background. I decided to become a nurse and take care of those children. During my last semester my mother passed away and I decided to move home and take on her role in our family business with my father instead of going into home health.
