- As the Relocation Coordinator for the village of Newtok/Mertarvik most often I was the middle on behalf of the community.
- I learned some terminology, such as RFPs, bidding process, scope of work, and procurement process, in a short time period.
- I spoke to our funding agencies in Anchorage on the status of finances to move the village of Newtok to Mertarvik.
- I was able to translate to the President of Newtok Village Council on the progess of the relocation effort.
- I had to attend meetings in the villages that only pertained to the community needs.
- I attended meetings on a weekly basis on the relocation efforts with funding agencies and our Project Manager.
- I did some presentations on the relocation effort during ATCEM titled "Lesson's Learned". Traveled to Seattle to learn more on FEMA when to declare disasters and the process it takes after declaring a diaster.
- I did a presentation in Minneapolis on behalf of the relocation effort due to climate change. During this presentation the audience took the term 'resilience' into a whole new level after my presentation.
