Summary

As a highly organized professional with more than twenty-one years of investigative experience, in both the public and private sector, I wish to expand my career. I strongly feel with my experience and eagerness to grow professionally, I am ready for new challenges. I have successfully investigated and assisted with numerous Economic Crimes, to include Embezzlement, Credit Card and Check Fraud. I work well with other employees and investigators from outside local and federal agencies. I diligently multitask, complete all assignments and I am able to complete complex caseloads. I prioritize and manage deadlines and am able to work with a sense of urgency. As a member of the Newport News Police Department for the past 16 years, I have had the opportunity to work in various assignments. Currently, I am assigned to the South Property Crimes Unit as a Precinct Detective. I have been with this unit for the past ten years as a Master Police Detective. I investigate over 25 cases per month; write court reports, interview suspects, witnesses and victims. I present cases to the Commonwealth Attorney and testify in court on a weekly basis. Thorough documentation is imperative and required in all criminal cases in order to get a successful outcome and justice in court. I have had numerous arrests and successful convictions involving suspects charged with burglary, credit card theft, fraud, forgery, destruction of property and embezzlement within the past two years. I have created multiple operational plans for the execution of search warrants to ensure officer and civilian safety. I prepare and edit correspondence and other legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail in preparation for court trials similar to a paralegal. I am confident in my work because I meticulously collect and analyze all facts and evidence available. I am an experienced Master Police Detective with exceptional integrity and above average clearance rates.
