Projects

Currently the project lead on a program called Path2Teach. This program is a "Grow your own" program at Mesa Public Schools that was implemented this past year. We received guidance from the Arizona Department of Education on how to implement an alternative certification program housed within Mesa Public Schools. My job is to develop professional development, guide new practitioners in the field and ensure we are adhering to the Educator Prep Program proposal submitted to the ADE. Developed a statewide training for Adult Basic Education Institute in September 2019. A part of the scheduling, presentations, securing of national trainers, presenting on state standards and ensuring programs are informed, and understanding of state- wide requirements according to WIOA, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. Creating engaging professional learning opportunities to inform statewide programs on best practices and guidance on training and development of programs. Worked on a committee of three to review Educator Preparation Programs. Evaluated reports that determine whether programs meet standards and competencies for accreditation. Reviewed programs seeking approval in three domains. Assessed the Organizational Structure and Systems of a Program, Instructional Impact and Clinical Practice and Partnerships that determine whether a program meets the criteria in each matric. Reviewed the professional preparation Institution in each of the three domains and provided an overall score that evaluated evidence provided that meets teacher preparation program standards set forth by the ADE and INTASC.
