• Maintained and expanded funding to support international programs across portfolio of foundation, USG, and multilateral funders.
• Cultivated and solicited funding through personal interaction, written solicitations, and stewardship actions including emails, calls, letters, meetings, site visits, and presentations.

• Acted as primary point of contact at organizational level for foundation, USG, and multilateral engagement to attract, continue/secure funding.
• Conducted visits with donors and funders to strengthen relationships and to steward onward funding.
• Developed, monitored, and reported on program/project budgets to foundation, USG, and multilateral funding counterparts.
• Monitored grant reporting deadlines and worked closely with program officers to ensure that reports were submitted on timely basis, in full compliance with funder's reporting standards.
• Guided conception, writing, and development of collateral materials (e.g. technical briefs, graphic models, PPT presentations, Spark pages, videos, etc.).
• Led public-facing communications team to ensure organization visibility through digital channels (social media, website, Exposure, and Spark website pages).
• Managed program staff and delivery of international programs (Uganda, Eswatini).

Highlights include:

• Successfully negotiated match/parallel funding from two foundations with overlapping priorities. This enabled program scaling with government partners and funding of research arm. We were awarded $2 million ($1M from each foundation) for program in Uganda;
• Successfully solicited unprecedented second round of funding from USAID for DREAMS Innovations Challenge programming in Southern Africa, for which we were awarded $850,000;
• Successfully pitched and wrote concept notes and subsequent proposal to foundation for new program in Southern Africa. We were awarded $750,000.

• Led international teams to deliver programming and multi-media campaigns in over 20 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Caribbean. Reported directly to Chief Executive Officer.
• Managed strategic partnerships and delivered presentations with funders, board members, partners, government, and other stakeholders.
• Directed teams of program and development staff on project development in response to funding opportunities.
• Developed and wrote successful proposals submitted to USAID, World Bank, UNICEF, and others to expand programming, ranging from $500K - $3 million.
• Ensured compliance with proposal submission requirements and deadlines, including drafting, editing, and compiling supporting documentation.
• Supervised work plans, contracts, expense projections, deliverables, and budgets.
• Managed 27 employees at New York headquarters and internationally.

Highlights include:

• Securing $1.4 million grant from USAID for 4-country program in West Africa addressing Water, Health and Sanitation (WASH) and environmental conservation issues.
• Negotiating and securing $1 million grant from UNICEF for maternal health program in Mozambique.
• Securing $750K grant from UNICEF to deliver Ebola program in Liberia.

• Managed program staff and programming across Africa and Asia. (Liberia, Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Nigeria, Cameroon, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Gabon, Kenya, Mozambique, and Laos)
• Wrote numerous successful proposals to secure new and continuous funding, ranging from $30K - $1.7 million.
• Maintained records documenting all meaningful contacts with foundations, USG, and multilateral prospects, using database software.
• Maintained data of comparative year proposal submissions, awards, and stewardship.
• Utilized available resources and databases to research and develop list of foundation prospects aligned with organization funding priorities.
• Conducted capacity-building workshops for staff and partners.
• Supervised monitoring and evaluation activities including formative research and integrated research findings into programming. Reported data to funding counterparts.
