Christine Birdsell

I am an ambitious, professional Registered Nurse with experience in both inpatient and outpatient care in multiple specialties including Medical-Surgical, Oncology, and Breast Health and Wellness Screening. My time in the hospital setting allowed me to grow my hands-on skills including wound dressing application, wound care, IV placement, blood transfusions, medication administration, and much more. As a Nurse Educator, I assisted with preventive care measures by scheduling annual well visits, assisting with cancer screens, and follow-up/specialist appointments. My time as a Research Nurse Coordinator gave me extensive experience in Chronic Care Management. I educated, consented, and enrolled patients onto phase I-III oncology clinical trials. I case managed each patient who was enrolled onto a study for adverse events, medication, and symptom management. Many of these patients required complex care planning, discharge planning, and transitional care. I assisted with clinical trial specific insurance issues in addition to coordination of all clinical trial required appointments (scans, bloodwork, office visits). During my time on the 24-7 Nurseline I gained experience triaging patient needs and educating them on the right level of care needed.
