  • Provide dyslexia therapy for grades K-12 for public school district in accordance with the Texas Dyslexia Handbook.
  • Develop and implement an individualized education plan based on assessment results, and present levels of performance.
  • Provide family training on the use of techniques to support language acquisition at home.
  • Utilize technology, such as Learning Ally, to foster a love of reading, while increasing comprehension, and expanding vocabulary.
  • Maintain accurate records, including evaluations, assessments, and progress monitoring data points.
  • Collaborate as a member of the ARD committee to provide guidance regarding the implications of diagnosis, goal-setting, program orientation, and the impact of thoughtful accommodations to level the playing field for students.
  • Create a multi-sensory learning environment, including visual and kinesthetic supports, to enhance the understanding of concepts for students with varying learning styles.
  • Collaborate with campus professionals, including speech pathologists, classroom teachers, administrators, and special education teachers, to develop comprehensive educational plans for students.
  • Model daily classroom behavior to students in an environment of mutual respect, using Christian core beliefs, with an emphasis on teaching conflict resolution strategies appropriate to situation.
  • Assist the campus to ensure students are placed in therapeutic sessions appropriate to maximize student growth, and to minimize time away from Tier 1 instruction.
