  • Challenge with growing the department and placing structure
  • In last 7 years, the volume has grown 30% despite the decrease dip during the pandemic

  • Restructured appointment times, which allowed for volume growth
  • Because volume grew, we were able to obtain more FTE's to meet the demand
  • Have spent the last 7 years replacing and growing the demand for the equipment and studies
  • Started with 16 ECHO machines now have 28
  • Dealt with staff turnover and shortage of ECHO sonographers in the Philadelphia area
  • Aligned with a school in Lancaster to be a feeder school for us
  • The Hospital acquired the old Mercy Hospital and needed to open an ECHO lab there
  • Successful opened the lab to allow patient of the west Philadelphia area to continue to still receive care.
