When i started at pierce i strived daily to learn new areas in my department and what the stations did. After just 4 months of working in my department i became the rover, where i quickly learned how to prioritize issues within the department and manage time. I used the information i learned to help other people. I would take new hires out and show them how to operate the cab, start and drive the fire truck. This made me want to become a team lead so i decided to go to collage for leadership. On 2nd shift i filled in for my team lead when he was absent and often helped to mediate disagreements and helped ensure we hit rate. After switching to first shift i quickly learned almost every station in my department and im broadening my knowledge with JDE and shadowing my team lead while continuing to be the rover.
