Before starting with Arches Brewing, I met with the distributor partner to get their opinion of the brewery. I was told, "It is a dead brand in our portfolio". Knowing this, I came onboard at Arches Brewing in January of 2022 with the goals of producing high quality beer consistently, "cutting the fat" in the portfolio and increasing production on the "horses", and last, but not least, building distributor partner confidence in the brand.
Weekly, I worked with the distributor sales team in the market. Visiting existing partners and potentially new partners, treating different district teams to lunch, recognizing individual sales representatives for their efforts, and communicating the successes back to the General Manager.
After nearly 4 months of doing all of this regularly, the distributor partner sales team began to actively sell the brands in the portfolio when I was not around. They began to call me with opportunities for additional shelf and draft placements, for event opportunities, and sponsorship opportunities.
