My name is Christopher Frederick Canaday, but I go by Fred. Since I was 13, I have had a passion for skateboarding and all things related to it. Skating with buddies after school every day, going to all different skate parks, and skating downtown Tampa. As I've grown older, I've kept my passion for skateboarding, and now have many different hobbies and activities. I often go to the gym, create art, attend college classes, go outside in nature, and, of course, skate when I can. My job at Schiros Hay and Feed has taught me a lot about communication and handling customers. I've become good at managing time and keeping my cool through stressful situations. I thrive best in a work environment where I have to make decisions and be a leader, somewhere I can feel helpful. I believe I could greatly benefit others by working at Providence Skate Park.
My role at Schiros Hay and Feed is to load each and every customer's vehicle with hay and feed. We have a wide variety of different kinds of feed and different amounts, so I use a forklift and Kubota to load people's trucks and cars. I have been working there for more than a year, so no job is too tough for me. I talk to every customer personally that comes in and load their vehicle and I've never had anyone complain about my work. I also have the responsibility of keeping the outdoor barn as clean as possible at all times. This includes sweeping up hay and putting it into buckets, leaf blowing, feeding the outdoor cat, and keeping its litter clean, organizing feed, taping up any damaged bags, and putting away and organizing leftover feed pallets. I also have the responsibility of managing the inventory we have, keeping track of the available hay and feed, making new orders so we have full inventory.
