Work History

Manager

Boulder Wine Merchant
04.2020 - Current
  • I have always had a home at Boulder Wine Merchant. This was, and is, my third & fourth stint working with the company, and I genuinely enjoy being an integral part of the team. I was away in Singapore from December 2022 - September 2023. The border was open again, and I was able to return in order to be with my wife.

Operations Manager

Spize
09.2019 - 03.2020
  • My position with Spize was headquartered with their Temasek Club location. I managed and worked closely with staff both in the restaurant and the catering department. We had offsite events, as well as onsite at the Club, with some events hosting upwards of 500 guests. In addition to my managerial duties, I was also practiced networking through BNI with the Matrix Chapter. Unfortunately, Covid would prevent me from staying longer with the company.

Manager

Boulder Wine Merchant
02.2016 - 01.2019
  • Under the supervision of boss & mentor, Master Sommelier Brett Zimmerman, duties included: closing procedures, purchasing & maintaining of stock/product, meeting with representatives of various distributors, and, most importantly, assisting guests with their wine questions & purchases. A return to employment with the wine shop will always be available, but a bold move across the Pacific to Singapore offered an enticing new challenge and adventure.

Server, Expeditor, Food Runner

Michael Mina
03.2014 - 03.2015
  • Maintained Michelin-Star status alongside Chef Ron Siegel, and Advanced Sommeliers Evan Hufford & Matt Montrose. Performed consistently & professionally while being promoted within the company. After a year of dedication, the not-to-miss opportunity of world travel presented itself, coupled with a wine harvest in Piedmont, Italy and volunteer work all across Europe.

Sommelier, Server

L'Atlier
08.2012 - 01.2014
  • Assisted in wine inventory, nightly service and overall upkeep of the restaurant. Consistency in service and a true care for guests helped maintain our status in the community, as well as with the reviewers of Zagat. A move to San Francisco to pursue a Certification through the Society of Wine Educators would lead to my departure from a favorable position in a lovely restaurant.

Server, Catering Captain

Charlie Palmer's Dry, Creek Kitchen
11.2010 - 05.2012
  • Worked alongside acclaimed restaurateur & Chef, Charlie Palmer. The restaurant was fine-dining service with a casual country-style feel which paired local produce with French technique. Assisting during the annual Pigs & Pinot event was always a joy, and we entertained several celebrity chefs & sommeliers in the confines of our humble home. It was a joyous & celebrated farewell while moving back home to be with family in Colorado.

Intern

Mill Creek Vineyard
09.2010 - 10.2010
  • An introduction to the hard work and dedication needed to maintain the vineyard & cellar during the harvest season. Early mornings coupled with long nights fulfilled a dream to pursue the passion of making wine in Sonoma, California. Once the grapes had been harvested, and the fermentations had begun, it was time to return to the service industry at a quaint restaurant just up the road.

Assistant Manager

Boulder Liquor Mart
08.2008 - 08.2010
  • Over the course of two years, there were a multitude of duties to learn and perform. Between weekly wine-tastings with customers, coordinating off-site wine dinners, meeting with representatives from various wine distributors and maintaining the weekly newsletter, there was always something to be done. A gracious introduction into the wine world with a knowledgeable staff and almost 8,000 different wines, the departure was bittersweet, but necessary, in order to pursue a more grand adventure in wine country.
