During my time at Civil surveyors I have been a Project Manager for large and small ongoing projects at Dominion Energy sites in Chesapeake Energy Center and Yorktown Power Station.

My duties include Existing Condition Topographic Surveys Field Work and Office Calculations and Drafting, Stakeout Calculations, Field Stakeouts, Elevation Verification, Pipe Stakeout Calculation, Field Pipe Stakeout, Field As-Built Topographic survey, Office Drafting As-Built Survey, Field Work for Boundary Survey, Office Drafting for Boundary Survey, Field Work for Easement Survey and Office Calculations and Drafting for Easement Survey.

I also so worked with the financial portion of projects with Dominion and Civil Surveyors Inc. to remain in budget on projects.

As a Project Manager for D&M Surveyors P.C. I worked with Clients on several different levels such as private land owners that needed small boundaries of 0.50 acre, large farms of 2,000 plus acre boundaries, Large and small subdivisions, Boundary line adjustment surveys, Easement surveys for for utilities such as water, sanitary sewer, stormwater sewer, drainage and transmission line. Substation boundaries for Dominion Energy weather it was an existing parcel or if the parcel needed to be subdivided for the substation. Managing Dominion Energy projects such as foundations and structure layout, Limit of Disturbance layout,underground and above ground layout, duct bank layout, tank layout, As-Builts, topographic surveys for design and containment.

As a cad/mapping technician I used a program called Terramodel supported by Trimble. I would use this program to do calculation and drafting with. If the file needed to be shared with Engineers or Dominion Engineers it was a easy conversion for AutoCAD. I calculated and drafted many different project with this program such as small and large boundary's, subdivisions, topographic surveys, utility easements, site plans, tank volume, As-Built, calculating scale factors and appling them to different grids and datum's and calculating cubic yards and volumes for containment. One of the largest projects I worked on as far as a cad/mapping technician was a 12 mile transmission route survey for Dominion Energy in Waynesboro Virginia. It was an existing line that was being upgraded. I calculated and drafted the existing features and worked with lidar files and control files, created new easements, prepared working maps for field crews for there layout and processed data.

As a Party Chief/Field Supervisor for over 16 years my duties included running traverse control with a total station, setting up GPS control, preforming level loops on survey control, preparing field notes for the survey control, preparing level loop notes on survey control, Set projects up to be done efficiently and safely, field calculations, recovery of old boundary markers, locating remnant's of old boundary fence, ditch lines or whatever may have been called for by deeds,plats,and old descriptions. I have preformed many field surveys on various Dominion Energy sites such as Chesterfield Power Station, Yorktown Power Station, Chesapeake Energy Center, Clover Power Station, Mount Storm Power Station,Ladysmith CT, Remington CT, Gravel Neck CT, Darbytown CT, Northern Neck CT. I have also preformed multiple field surveys in Substation's existing and new. from locating existing pads and structures to laying out new pad and structures, along with calculating angles and elevations in the field as Party Chief/Field Forman.

As a Instrument Technician I learned how to operate total stations, conventional levels, GPS equipment, data collectors with TDS program, SMI program and Carlson Surv PC program. I used these Instruments to survey large and small boundaries, subdivisions, topographic surveys, substations and Dominion Energy Power Plants projects, Such as laying out Buildings, Foundations, Anchor Bolts, Storm Water pipe, Waterline pipe, Gas line pipe and topographic surveys on berm and tanks for volume calculations. I used these instruments to set survey control horizontally and run level loops on the control for vertical precision. During my time as a Instrument Technician I also learned how to take field notes showing traverse angles and distance, side shot locations angles and distance with a sketch showing the locations. I also learned how to take level notes and run closures. During this time I also enrolled in a Surveying 1 course at J Sargeant Reynolds Community College to where I received an A in the course.

As a Field Technician I worked on Boundary and Construction projects where i learned the basic of surveying such as using prism poles, plum bob, level rods,brush ax for cutting lines, flagging lines,flagging stakes. I learned how to look for boundary evidence such as old wire fence, worm fence, ditches, ditch mounds and how to identify property corners and property lines by finding line trees, monuments or what was called for by plats or deeds. I also learned how to understand items on plats and drawings such as distances, bearings, coordinates, quadrants,and symbols in a legend of plats and construction drawings. On construction sites I used these tools and items to layout for manholes, pipelines, roadways, curb and gutter, setting hub and tacks for reference to offsets and applying cut and fills to final grade.
