As a material controller for an Aerospace company, my responsibilities are to receive all materials (powder/wire/metal coupon samples), log in all pertinent data such as date, material, batch/lot number, and using the provided material certification make sure that the chemical composition and sieve results (for powders) meet any required OEM specification. As the person who gives out all materials for our plasma sprayers, keeping the daily operational log recorded accurately is also a function of the position. Traceability from finished part back to raw material is all done from this recording log. All work is done under the accreditation of NADCAP and AS9100 regulations, along with following ITAR guidelines. For the last seven years, I have also performed all tensile strength testing in our lab, following precise procedures to cure samples to testing bars, and recording all data based on necessary specifications. For some jobs, hand fitting metal coupons is required for special jigs, and I have performed most of the fitting and indication markings for these sample pieces. Using a forklift is a mandatory requirement for my position, and my experience on forklifts and small machines go back 30 years.
Two months after having our third child, our four year old daughter became sick with a pediatric issue that she has long since overcome, and as my wife's employment had better insurance, I chose to stay at home to care for the children.
At Cabelas, I was the Marine lead, helping customers with all marine related issues, products, and crossing over with the fishing dept. Along with that position, I was one of the stores product specialists, and would help private shoppers, people with insurance claims when they suffered fires or other losses, and could cover any area of the store with a better than basic knowledge base to assist customers.
I am extremely organized, and count that as my success in my current job where every detail has to be correct and recorded accurately This has also helped me to better mold practices to a more efficient procedure when able
