Most of these jobs were an hour and a half away from where I lived at the time. It entailed a substantial amount of driving every single day, but I did perform various tasks at work, including finishing basements, assisting with the installation of fence posts on a horse farm, and constructing deck staircases, among other tasks. However, eventually, the excessive daily driving became unsustainable, and I was compelled to leave the company.
Served on the Baltimore Yearly Meeting Camp Property Management Committee for nearly three years now, and it has been a truly enriching experience. Assisted in decision-making and did outreach to encourage people to join us on volunteer work days, which not only helped the community but also fostered a sense of camaraderie. Participated in numerous voluntary work days myself in the last three years as a member of the Committee, and attending quarterly meetings at Various Locations When My Financial Situation allowed me has been a great way to connect with like-minded individuals. Working with other committees in relation to the responsibilities of a member of the Camp Property Management Committee has been a valuable learning experience. As the liaison between the Camp Property Management Committee and the Development Committee, I had the opportunity to contribute my input and share information from the Camp Property Management Committee also supporting the fundraising efforts for Baltimore Yearly Meeting. During these volunteer work days, I had the chance to make a real difference in the lives of others, and it has been incredibly fulfilling. In fact, the tasks I performed during my volunteer work at the camps are similar to the responsibilities of the Caretaker position, which has given me a deeper understanding of the importance of this role. I have been fortunate to maintain good relations with the other committee members, as well as the greater Baltimore Yearly Meeting community, and my membership as an official member of Stony Run Friends Meeting in Baltimore has been a source of inspiration and guidance.
I delivered food with Uber eats on a regular basis for a couple years, often then on and off, and after that once in a while lately to supplement my Social Security disability income, which did not cover all my bills.
I have been providing handyman services to various family members and friends, encompassing tasks such as rebuilding decks, yardwork, constructing workbenches, and relocating heavy objects like furniture and boxes. Additionally, I have assisted with moving, painting, and numerous household chores at my parents' residence. I have also cleared debris, performed minor repairs, including fixing cabinet doors and drawers, and offered troubleshooting advice on managing diverse projects. Furthermore, I have provided guidance on handling larger projects that required hiring external contractors. Notably, I successfully sanded and refinished all the floors in my uncle's house, a significant undertaking that yielded excellent results. Mostly on a volunteer basis, but they fed me well.
My Mom, Susan Cabot 443-745-6836
I've had the privilege of supporting my mom for many years, taking on numerous tasks to care for my grandmother, from accompanying her to doctor's appointments and helping with grocery shopping to taking her on vacations, managing her medication, and attending multiple doctor's appointments, all while helping with grocery shopping and assisting with household chores like cleaning and decorating for the holidays, shouldering many caregiver responsibilities, I've also had the opportunity to support my mother, now in her 70s, with various aspects of her life, and previously helped my biological father attend multiple funerals before his passing, and currently, I'm honored to continue supporting my mom with occasional responsibilities as a caregiver, even though she's fully capable of handling everything on her own, I'm happy to help lighten her load.

I volunteer performing security and various other tasks at Taekwondo Tournaments a couple of times a year for years now.
As a Self Defense Expert with a World Certified Black Belt in Taekwondo, who has trained in other Martial Arts, such as Hapkido, Kung Fu, Muay Thai, and Boxing, I have been providing security escorts for family members and others when traveling to high-risk areas within the greater Baltimore metropolitan area, as well as during vacations. Through my training, I acquired expertise in de-escalation tactics and various self-defense techniques tailored to diverse scenarios. My primary objective is to proactively mitigate potential threats, rather than reacting to situations without proper planning and reconnaissance. Notably, my most effective strategy is leveraging the intimidation factor to deter potential criminals from approaching those under my protection.
I acquired my first vehicle in 1996 and, over the years, have owned a few more, successfully maintaining and cleaning my vehicles on a regular basis. I do not perform complex maintenance independently, instead efficiently handling cleaning processes, scheduling regular maintenance, and fueling my vehicles, possessing sufficient knowledge about motor vehicles to ensure they receive proper care from skilled maintenance professionals.
Throughout the years, my mother has maintained expansive yards at her various residences, and I have had the pleasure of serving as her landscaping partner. We undertook a diverse array of tasks, including grass cutting, leaf clearing, tree and bush planting, installing edging around plant beds, digging holes for fencing, and erecting fences – essentially, a comprehensive range of landscaping activities. Although this was not a full-time commitment, I continue to assist my mother once in a while on my spare time providing support with various landscaping endeavors during my spare time.
Participated in Business Meetings, contributing to decision-making processes for the Stony Run Community, and undertook various volunteer work within the meeting over the years. Currently serving on the Stony Run Property Committee on a part-time basis. They believed I would be a valuable asset to the Stony Run Property Committee, so I committed to providing assistance when possible and contributing to decision-making processes, as well as volunteering physical labor at meeting from time to time. This represents the business aspect of my membership at Stony Run Friends Meeting.
Throughout my life, I have been actively engaged in managing various business aspects, ranging from tax preparation and budgeting to overseeing my schoolwork as a child, and currently, handling multiple smartphone applications related to independent contractor work, such as Uber, Instacart, and Tackle, Tackle was an app which I experimented with years ago. Additionally, I have been diligently attending to my personal business matters, including timely bill payments, financial tracking, and maintaining organized files and records, as well as calculating expenditures. With extensive experience utilizing various programs and applications for different business purposes, I have developed a proficiency in quickly adapting to new tools, often becoming an expert within a couple of days. Notably, my academic achievements include being placed on the Dean's list at Howard Community College, where I earned credits in various subjects relevant to pursuing a business degree, as well as excelling in a ground-level business class.
Throughout my residences, I have consistently assumed household responsibilities, which have escalated as I have matured. For nearly two decades, I have upheld autonomy, ensuring a pristine, safe and meticulously maintained living environment by attending to all cleaning and other responsibilities. Furthermore, I have been self-sufficient in managing laundry, procuring attire, maintaining a healthy environment, and all other responsibilities that arise in relation to preserving a clean and secure environment for an extended period.

As part of my longstanding involvement with Baltimore Yearly Meeting as a youth, I was entrusted to serve as treasurer for young friends, assuming the noble responsibility of managing conference finances, handling food expenditures and safeguarding resources throughout the weekend, a true testament to the trust that Baltimore Yearly Meeting had for me as a youth.

I’m on the camp property committee. I was informed about the Caretaker position during a committee meeting.
Being an employee of Baltimore Yearly Meeting excites me. Being the caretaker at Cottocton is a great opportunity. I would be part of an Organization that shows Youngsters the Value of Peace. What excites me the most is simply serving at Cottocton as the Caretaker. It has been a dream of mine for nearly 40 years. As a Camper at Cottocton. I had cried every year when it was time to go Back to Baltimore. So living at Camp is truly a dream come true. Plus I have the skills to do a great job. Applying my skills will help keep the camp safe and Functioning for many years to come. Making that difference means the world to me.
Nothing about this job is going to be totally new to me. I have a lot of experience in most if not all of the terms of employment as the Caretaker at Cottocton. I’ve driven huge box trucks making deliveries of projects that I help build while working as an architectural woodworker. I’m very good at talking with people. I have a lot of experience cleaning. I learn new computer applications pretty fast. Lots of Landscaping experience etc. etc. etc..On top of all that I’m really good with safety. I’ve always had a huge focus on safety. Being safe allowed me to excell in my architectural woodworking / Home improvement education. I actually won the State Championship in Cabinet Making two years in a row in high school. 3.71 GPA in my part time couple years in college. I was knocking down classes that are necessary for a business degree. Planning on finishing up on my Business degree. I can do most of that online from anywhere.
