Summary

My name is Christopher Helms, I am a Correctional Officer Captain at Apalachee Correctional Institution. I have been in the Department of Corrections for a total of Nine years, out four of those nine years I have been with the Rapid Response Team with my Institution. While joining the Department of Corrections I have learned how to be a responsible, reliable and hardworking employee. Within this job I have been able to obtain Leadership skills, with being knowledgeable in Policy and Procedure, while learning how to maintain security and safety on the compound within the Facility. Working with a multitude of people with different cultural backgrounds and personalities, I have been able to apply my excellent communication and interpersonal skills with every position I have promoted to. I am motivated to learn new positions with the desire to take on new challenges, adaptability, and skills to help maintain the operations of the facility. I am very dedicated to continue my career in the Department of Corrections.
