· As a Field Service Engineer with Optos I install, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on Ultra Widefield Imaging devices. These machines produce images of the eye in several different modalities such RG, OCT, and AUTOFLORESENCE. Giving doctors the ability to see and treat disease before it's too late. I replace components such as lasers, electronic modules, optics, and a variety of other vital component for these devices. After parts replacements or during PM's I'm required to perform numerous calibrations to ensure the machine will perform. I upgrade or install software to the device or the server while onsite. The machine requires a fair amount networking as well.
· My territory includes Michigan, Northern Indiana and Northern Ohio. Daily I travel to and from customer locations with distances of 3o min to 5 hours from my home office. I work with many different customers such as optometrists or ophthalmologists. I am required to schedule visits and perform repairs in a timely manner.
· My duties also include administrative duties such as expense reports which are done semiweekly to monthly. If need be, I book and reserve all travel reservations such as hotel, airfare, and rental car. I'm also required to keep up on maintenance of the company vehicle. I schedule all repairs or maintenance on the vehicle as required.
