Work History

Welder/Fabricator - Equipment Operator

IUOE local 302
01.2023 - Current

  • Project 1 - Kiewitt

This project was on the Air Force base. I operated the Fuel truck at start up to fuel all the equipment, arrived early with time to start the equipment and do my inspections. I safely and carefully operated the fuel truck in the rough and harsh off-road winter conditions to insure that all the equipment being operated was fully fueled and greased before start up. When that was done I would resume my work installing the portable structures for cleaning and working on the equipment as well as any emergency structural repairs to the equipment.

  • Project 2 - AS&G

This was a turnaround contract in Palmer consisting of 3 months of structural repair and maintenance on all the hoppers and conveyors. When I was done with all my repairs and maintenance work or if I was waiting on parts I would hop in the skid steer and front end loader and do some grade work on the roads and fill in any pot holes as well as flood prevention.

  • Project 3 - QAP

This was a contract consisting of approximately 5 months. I was dispatched to finish out the season of paving as Operator. This is where I truly expanded my knowledge of equipment and garnered my interest in driving the trucks. I did a number of projects within this company in a very short period of time. The experience I gained while doing this project consisted of excavator operation, finish roller operation, and driving a freight liner with a lowboy. I expanded upon my front end loader experience getting more comfortable with the 980k.

  • Project 4 - Brice Industries

This was a very short 2 week contract I was dispatched to St. Marys Alaska to do some structural hull repair on 2 rock trucks and a side dump that were damaged the previous year. I finished out the season with this contract.

  • Project 5 - Alaska Frontier Construction

This was a 3 month contract that I was dispatched on to finish out the season as a gravel hauler in an off road rig with a belly dump. I stayed till the end of the season with the promise to come back in November for the next season.

  • In this short term contract I participated in two separate projects.

  • This was a 6 month contract. I was sent to ODS island for tank repair on all their upright tanks. in my time with them I did 4 weeks on 1 week off with a rotational schedule until the job was done. Repairs on the tanks were done in the order of breaching the manway, safety inspections, clearing debris from the floor entrance, building scaffold, entering the tank with full hazmat and respirators with both supplied air and cartridges depending upon the atmosphere, pressure washing and scrubbing the entire tank, inspecting the coating, repair and replacement/fabrication of brackets and anodes, sandblasting of bad spots in the tanks, painting and curing and then reinstall and close out of the tank. all of these tasks were done with safety at all times in mind. permitting was done properly and by the books every day.
