Capable and Organized is how I would describe myself in two words. If there is ever a challenge I find myself wanting to work as hard as possible to solve the challenge. I feel great gratification from hard work and am bored when not challenged enough. That said, I take pride in my work regardless of where I am working, work tends to be a lot easier when you have a better attitude about it. I am reliable and consistent in my work and am always wanting to learn more; learning is what makes my day. I think I would be a great fit for any company because my willingness to learn and my yearning for tough challenges. The next few sections are about my coding journey thus far and why I love it and all of its challenges.
After reading about the abundance of technology jobs in more recent times, I did some research on the necessary education required for an entry level tech job. Some time later I came upon a web developer program that was through Northwestern University(IL). After a few phone calls to the university and some more research, I decided to take a chance and sign up for the course with no more than the dev tools in the browser as my previous knowledge in computer coding.
Wanting to start off as fast as possible, I took the 3 month accelerated course and began to learn. Throughout the course I immersed myself in projects that taught me various frameworks, front-end to back-end. Some of those front-end technologies included HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, etc. Back-end technologies started with MySql and Node.js; ending with GraphQL and MongoDB. I truly enjoyed the challenges that I encountered throughout this program and I have been consistently practicing and studying coding since I started. I love nothing more than functional, organized, and efficient code, because I learned the hard way why those aspects are so important in web development. I truly enjoyed the group dynamic when it came to our 3 big projects, and I really liked that this class encouraged you to be as creative as you want.
After completing those projects and reflecting on them, I saw how far I had come in my learning but also how much more I have to learn. Since then I have been working with my last group on our last project, which is a workout smartphone app. Listed below is a link to my Portfolio website, with a list of all of the projects I have done since starting my class. Each project has a link to the repo and to the live link.
