  • Manufacture resurfacing by Submerged Arc Welding the inside of BOP's (Blow out Prevention). The BOPs are used for Oil Field drilling above or below sea level. I’m a Submerged Arc welder on an ARC 6 machine. Using a touch screen computer with programs, after setting up is complete. The arm moves up down left right, and in or Out Manually after setting up it will move Automatic to the program used. Also, the Table rotates 360 degrees. Welding/surfacing the Ram Bore on the inside for Machinist to cut it back down to specs where it then goes to the next stage of welding. Resurfacing the inside along with non- destructive testing and oven treated before inspected painted and shipped. EXPERIENCE

Variety of welding processes such as oxyacetylene, Flux Core arc Welding, shielded metal arc welding, Gas Metal arc Welding, Gas Tungsten arc Welding, Metal Spray Arc, Submerged Arc Welding and spot and stud welding to join all types of common metals and Weld structures, plates, sheet metal, pipes, pressure vessels, tanks, and/or other comparable material, parts, equipment, and machinery. Possess the ability to do the work of a Pipefitter, which includes working with high pressure piping systems and equipment to repair, modify, install, and test sections of piping systems, without more than normal supervision. Welding processes manual or automated, may weld dissimilar metals. Produces water or airtight welds where required. Welds require complete penetration and fusion of base and filler metals in hard-to-reach places. As required, may train and/or guide lower grade/lesser experienced employees. Blueprint Plans and Lays out work from Engineers, sketches, drawings, specification, and work orders. Install, modify, and repair new and existing high-pressure piping systems and equipment such as, flash and expansion tanks, condensate, vacuum, circulating pumps and radiators. Install such things as risers, flexible branches, expansion joints, pumps, gauges, and pressure regulators. Install and modify piping and fitting for plumbing water systems, chemical systems, medical gas and vacuum systems, sprinkler systems and conditioned air systems, sets plumbing fixtures. Install, modify and repair systems by setting up system routes, placing and cutting route openings, placing hangers for proper pitch and elevation. Set up clamping fixtures, devise special jigs and fixtures to hold the parts to be welded, as needed. Prepares welding surfaces. Utilizes Safety practices, establish rules, regulations, and procedures. Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Uses and assures proper fit of required safety equipment and clothing. Properly uses, maintains, and accounts for all hand and/or power tools required to accomplish assigned duties. Knowledge of a wide range of welding principles, processes, and difficult techniques, and of welding standards and how various metals in thickness react to different welding processes and techniques. Ability to use welding drawings, blueprints, specification, and instructions. Install proper braces and supports to control movement and vibration to allow for expansion and contraction. Ability to use measuring instruments to maintain dimensions and tolerances to specifications. Ability to weld dissimilar metals including parts and structures that vary in size, shape, and thickness. Plan and layout plumbing work such as the routing, placement, slant, and slope of utility, supply, sewage, water, oil, gas, and compressed air. Use a wide variety of tools to install, repair and maintain piping systems.
