At the age of 17 I enrolled in EMT school while still attending high school. After graduating high school I worked for Royal Ambulance for a year and a half, there I gained and understanding of inter-facility transportation, patient assessment, as well as customer communication and understanding. I then went on to paramedics plus where I learned about emergency ambulance operations as well as learning the finer points of Alameda County's procedures and protocols. I then transferred over to Falck when they had taken over the contract and continued my employment with Alameda County Emergency Medical services. I was then promoted to Lead EMT as well as a Field training officer. Then for about two years I went part time with my ambulance job to work as an ER Tech at Eden Emergency/Trauma where I dialed in my knowledge of medicine as well as obtaining a deeper perspective of definitive care.
