Through Louisburg College's Work Study program, I worked as a Student Life Office Assistant, supporting communication, event planning, and campus engagement. The assistant was successful in helping to create, update, and maintain bulletin boards that featured information on campus safety, cultural events, and celebrations like the Graduation Countdown, Black History Month, Women's History Month, and March Mindfulness. To advertise events, projects, and crucial deadlines, flyers were made and dispersed throughout the school. Additionally, the position included supporting campus outreach initiatives, such as phone campaigns and dorm-storming, which included promoting the completion of the Housing Intent Form. Joint projects like the March Madness Bracket Challenge were part of the collaboration with the Student Government Association (SGA). The assistant helped organize and come up with ideas for a variety of student activities.
Student Life Ambassador (Work Study)
As a Student Life Ambassador through the Work Study program at Louisburg College, this role served as a key support liaison to Community Hall Directors and Assistant Community Hall Directors during designated on-call shifts. The ambassador played an important part in helping maintain a safe, respectful, and well-monitored residential environment. Responsibilities included conducting the first set of nightly residence hall rounds at 9:00 PM, which involved thorough walkthroughs of each building and floor to observe and assess the overall condition of the community. During rounds, the ambassador identified and documented concerns related to student behavior, policy compliance, and facility safety, and communicated all findings to the professional staff member on duty to ensure timely and appropriate follow-up. While maintaining a strictly observational role in accordance with college protocols, the ambassador focused on reporting incidents rather than direct intervention, ensuring that all concerns were properly escalated to trained professionals. Throughout the position, the ambassador demonstrated strong attention to detail, professionalism, and discretion, while contributing to a secure and supportive living environment for fellow students.
