I have worked at the Darden School of Business in two different departments. I first worked in food and beverage as a server and my task was to help host the executive groups that came to the school (along with other events such as weddings and sporting events). We were to set up the dinning hall accordingly to whatever the event needed catering to (table placement, silverware set ups).
After working in the Food and Beverage for awhile I was moved to a different department in housekeeping with laundry. I would work the washing machines and dryers and help with guests needs. They also asked me to help keep closets set with clean material and help housekeeping with various tasks.
After working in housekeeping for almost a year I was once promoted again to the Front Desk at the inn. My tasks involved me using a program called maestro that was used for checking in and out guests in the system. The program would also help assist with special guest needs. The program had a systematic approach to set up room blocks for our MBA/AMP students that attended the courses. It was our job to help with student requests and transit guest services. I would also help guests via email with refunds, explanations for charges and to also help keep check on our online reservations (just to make sure they were coming in the system). My job required me to use Microsoft outlook, Microsoft excel and Adobe for editing files. I was also part of the safety committee at Darden and helped with implementing conscious safety practices along side other departments.
I first started as a cashier but quickly moved up to a shift manager. Our job was to make dough and bake various pizza choices. My job included opening the store, counting money, running to the bank. I would make sure to have the store kept clean at all times and to look over the other employees work performances. I would also run deliveries for larger parties that order from the store.
In my earlier life, I worked with my logging family from Scottsville Va. I am very familiar with working with large machinery. I worked with Feldmann's Landscaping for 2 years which included various hardscaping jobs as well as lawn care.
