  • Programmed, documented vast majority of autonomous and teleop functions in Java of Grand River Prep’s first robot in a decade (rookie year: 2023); wired SparkMAX motor controllers onto robot for team’s first 2 years.
  • Grew the Grand River Prep robotics team from 8 to about 20 people over the span of 4 months between our 1st year and 2nd year.
  • Taught about 20 other students the basics of Java programming for robotics in the absence of a software development industry mentor between the first two years of the robotics team.

  • Conducted undergraduate level research at Hope College under Dr. Brooke Odle and Dr. Omofolakunmi Olagbemi to train machine learning models in time series classification to categorize the terrain (smooth, rugged) that a wheelchair is pushed across.
  • Built a Stanford Neuromuscular Biomechanics Lab OpenSenseRT system, calibrated an Xsens IMU system for backup.
  • Performed experiments, collected, extracted, and resampled data using Python and Google Collab for joint segmentation, joint acceleration in the upper and lower body of 3 human subjects.
  • Attended and presented research during Hope College Engineering Department summer research seminars in front of 15-25 engineering students and several engineering professors; wrote and submitted an abstract to AEOP stakeholders.
