In the short time that I have been at Printpack I was able to become a extrusion technician in 8 months while training newer assistants on operating and managing material for the extruders. With production in the printing department increased I've been able to help out and print at a very high quality before returning my current position as extrusion process technician. I currently help out when needed in numerous departments.

  • I perform the teardown of the whole extruder
  • I utilize a 2 ton crane and hoist to move all parts and tooling
  • I operate the burnout oven for cleaning of the parts
  • I reassemble the extruder tooling by torquing all parts
  • I use a feeler gauge to ensure correct spacing between parts
  • I use torque wrenches along with pneumatic drives and drills
  • I assemble and torque the extruder die
  • I drill and tap any broken bolts in the teardown process
  • I perform test to ensure all thermocouples and heater bands are operating properly
