When I first worked for this company I began as a produce clerk. 3 months later they moved me into meat department and became a meat clerk. They had similar responsibilities.I worked for the Bj's WholeSale Club store at Islandia NY.
- Immidiately beginning of the shift rotate and make sure there are no expire product on the floor.
- Making sure the shelves were stocked and greet and offer help to any customer nearby.
- Worked closely with the team on making a plan on how to execute the day.
- Made sure there was nothing expired.
- Making sure we were clean at all times.
- Being consistent making sure the shelves were stocked and full and everything facing forward and straight.
- Would help around bakery and deli department. Deli department helped slicing meat and cheese for customers. Greeting them and offering recommendations. Bakery help the team with stocking their shelves.
- Also worked in rotisserie department. Making sure there were cooked chicken at all times for customers.
In 2021 I got promoted and became a meat cutter.
- Making sure all cuts of meat were out for sale and available for customers.
- Everytime I would pack out meat I would ask any customer if they need any help and offer recommendations.
- If they wanted a meat cut a certain way I would also help them and cut it to their specification.
- I would make sure every morning sanitation was completed and when I would work late shifts I would also make sure before I leave the entire department was sanitized and clean.
- Very opened and worked any shift I was scheduled.
- With meat clerk experience It helped me elevate on this position.
- Asked and began training with the Meat manager to learn management tasks.
- Learned how to complete orders and deliveries for the department.
- She entrusted me with the team and plan the day and execute them the days she was not scheduled.
- I also became certified on the forklift and would help the Receiving department when they had a sick call or someone was on Vacation.
- Made sure all signage and pricing was correct.
On November 2021 I was a temporary Perishable Manager for 3 months and then became a temporary Meat Manager for the following 3 months. Then I got promoted to a permanent Meat Manager and transferred to the Bjs Whole Sale Club store at Riverhead NY.
- I planned daily with the team to make plans and execute them.
- Trained the team daily and worked with them on expectations.
- Any Customer Issue I would receive them at resolve them.
- I would get emails daily of customer issues and complains and I would need to call them to get it resolved.
- Looked at sales and opportunities daily.
- Set the cases and displays for season and holidays.
- Did monthly Inventory to make sure our inventory is correct.
- Would help other stores around New york and Boston.
- I would cover other managers if they were on vacations or sick calls.
- I began learning other departments once my tasks were completed.
On February 2025 I was transferred to the Bjs WholeSale Club in Commack New york. I got promoted to Perishables Manager. I had the same responsibilities as a meat manager but i was in charge of Bakery Department, Produce department and Deli department.
- I was more involved in training. I would need to train people all around the 3 departments. I trained 3 key employees to run the departments when I am not scheduled.
- I communicated more with customers. I was more involved with speaking to them and helping them. When they would call for a manager to the membership desk to speak to a customer I would be going to help with that situation.
On September 2025 the positions in the company changed. They added the position Assistant Club Manager Perishables and I got promoted into that positions.
- I oversee Bakery department, Produce Department, Deli Department, Meat Department, Dairy department and Freezer department.
- I got 4 supervisors under me. One for each department besides dairy and freezer.
- On my Day to Day I walk the departments to make sure they look perfect for customers every morning.
- Speak to my supervisors daily on the goals and expectations and train them on how they should communicate and train their team.
- I also write schedules for all the departments.
- I do supply orders for all the departments. I communicated and have meetings with the team to communicate sales and expectations of the company.
- I need to verify the entire store is in good shape through out the day. I oversee other areas in the store when their respective managers are not scheduled.
