I want to start out by saying that since I was a young person I have always had a mechanical
aptitude. I remember being seven years old and working with my dad, constructing mechanical
and technological items. So in my youth, my dad (who was quite a handyman, and a jack of all
trades himself), really helped me to develop and hone my skills as he and I would work on
countless projects together. As I grew older, my mechanical and technological skills even
surpassed my dad’s (I even added quite an array of computer skills to this list). In fact, my
proficiency with mechanical and technological items not only allowed me to work in the field
for about 8 years for another company. After that, it also allowed me to open my own
storefront, which I ran successfully for seven years, and closed it a few years ago. In my over 35
years of experience I have done countless number of mechanical and technical jobs. I am also
very good at utilizing the Internet to do research on fixing items and getting the best pricing on
parts. In my shop, and for personal projects I would often choose to fix a part in an item,
rather than replace the whole item as I have an aptitude for figuring out and solving these
types of problems. I have been working with the public for over 15 years, and have very good
people skills. I would be somebody who works hard to be a team player with my fellow
coworkers. If hired, please know that I would bring all this experience to your company. I’m
confident that I can be an asset to your company; I welcome the opportunity to interview with
you if possible.
