Boeing commercial aircraft had been testing candidates for high skill jobs

i scored high enough i could chose one of 4 jobs, general machinist, modle maker, tool room machinist and tool and die maker. my uncle in grren bay ( a tool and die maker) gave me the advice you will never be rich but you will be able to provide a nice quality of life for a family, that being said, i chose tool and die?

after 9-11 Boeing employees were told aprox 60k manufacturing people could get whats called a 60 day warn notice. its a law. it states you have a chance of being layed off in 60 days, so first round 50k some odd people went. i was the last guy with my job title and senority that didnt get the ax, it was easy to see i would be one of the very first in the 2nd round. an aunt of mine had a beautiful hobby farm in belgium wi. so i called my wa realestate agent to see how much i might get for my house and how soon, very long story, but 20 days later it was sold. cash offer no price listed but once again, i got much more than i expected. i couldnt see fighting with 60 thousand other folks for employment, so i made enough on my house in wa to pay for the happy farm. my best friend joe had a nice contracting gig and hired me. so between the wage he paid me and the severance pay we did go really well i did work at custom tool and engineering and orion hyydrodynamic bearings but was never satisfied till i found the job at dickmann mfg where i created the tool and die program.yed there till the 3 brother in laws who owned the componay. it became an unplesant swirling stagnet back eddy of hell. found what i had hoped was going to be perfect, once again same deal at gruber happened. so im ready for a position i look forward to go to every morning and believes they found tne guy they wefe looking for.
