  • Apprentice / Journeyman Construction Laborer conducting installation of underground utilities and building roadways supporting municipal, commercial and residential infrastructure in an efficient and timely manner
  • Perform construction related to the development/improvement and installation of underground utilities
  • Responsible for clearing sites/falling trees, loading/unloading trucks, digging trenches, building forms, operating equipment, installing piping (pipe, flanges, valves), shoring, raising iron, testing/commissioning systems, performing finish work, maintaining equipment and ensuring site safety per OSHA regulatory requirements
  • Perform extensive grade setting/grade checking and layout on projects; utilize laser level, rods, swedes, gps systems to create 3D dimensional view of site, set elevations for rough, regrade and finish grades
  • Ensure all drainage, retaining walls, footings and street curb/gutters are constructed per plan specifications
  • Conduct traffic control on projects to regulate traffic near and around worksites; measure/mark site boundaries, openings and utilize flags, flip signs and moveable barriers to reduce hazards and maintain traffic flow
  • Part of Teichert’s 'Rising Iron Team'; performing final site finish work to complete connections for manholes, curb/gutters, hydrants, sewers/mains and asphalt/concrete
  • Utilized shoring barriers, jackhammers to raise and erect manholes and perform finish asphalt, concrete, mortar work as necessary
  • Implement jobsite SWPPP’s per EPA regulatory requirements to preserve and improve water quality and prevent discharges
  • Awarded Caltrans 'Best SWPPP Practices Award' in the Tahoe Basin
  • Excellent task order management and proactive onsite problem-solving skills
  • Ability to provide onsite leadership, materials staging and physical construction as needed
