Christopher "Critter" Fuqua

Nashville,TN

Summary

  • I have over 25 years experience as a professional banjo player, singer, and songwriter, and am a founding member of the bluegrass/americana band Old Crow Medicine Show. I play multiple instruments in many styles, and have written songs for, sung, and played multiple instruments on the Grammy-winning OCMS album Remedy. I am talented when it comes to musical collaboration, communicating clearly, and most importantly, having fun with the banjo. Along with bluegrass and country, I have a passion for many other kinds of music as well; Mississippi delta blues, Conjunto, (South Texas traditional accordion music), and rock & roll. I love working with groups and individuals, young and old, and I want to foster a space of joy and fellowship through the teaching of the banjo. I grew up in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and have previously lived in Charlottesville, and know and play with many of the local musicians.
