SENIOR DESIGN PROJECT

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) Language Translator

  • Partnered with a team to design and develop an OCR translator capable of translating 100+ languages and compliant with military codes and standards.
  • Collaborated on programming the GUI onto a Raspberry Pi 5, integrated the use of various API's, and selected the electrical components needed for the project.

JOYSTICK CONTROLLED STEPPER MOTOR 

Hardware Project 

  • Designed and developed a circuit and program that utilizes a STM32 microcontroller to drive a stepper motor.
  • Developed a motor control circuit that utilized an H-bridge chip to handle high-current motor control, enabling safe and efficient operation with GPIO.
  • Optimized performance by implementing acceleration and deceleration features along with interrupt-based control for enhanced responsiveness through the utilization of the MCU's joystick.

FPGA DESIGN PROJECT

Diligent Nexys4 A7 Temperature Sensor Interface

  • Designed and implemented a temperature sensing system on the Digilent Nexys A7 FPGA board using VHDL, interfacing with the Analog Devices ADT7420 sensor over the TWI (I2c-compatible) protocol.
  • Optimized hardware design for optimal communication and processing, ensuring real-time temperature measurement and display using FPGA logic.
