Work History

Professional Hawaiian Singer

I Do A Variety Of Gigs
Hilo And Kona, Hawaii
03.2004 - Current

I play the 'ukulele and sing with a variety of people on the island of Hawaii. I am a "front man" in that I tell the stories and get the ball rolling at a gig.

My preference is to play as part of a trio, as I like the dynamic of three part harmonies. I am a steady rhythm player with my instrument and also enjoy the dynamic of every live performance I have been a part of.

I have performed at music festivals, have sung at the Merrie Monarch Festival activities and have performed at sacred and solemn events as well.

My most recent adventures as a part of a duo came as I performed on the Pride of America from 2016 to 2019, as a part of The Lei Aloha Duo. Our daily adventures to us to Aloha Lanai, Pink's and the Pool deck. We worked with the Hawaiian Ambassador to create a festive Hawaiian atmosphere and we participated in the Hula graduation.

Hula Dancer

Lifelong Experience
Hilo, Hawai'i
03.1970 - Current

My experience with hula began at a early age and in the most recent time, I have just recorded an album of Traditional Hawaiian hula songs.

I have had the good fortune to dance under some great Kumu Hula. The hula I have learned, the stories that we tell through the hula have become an intrinsic part of my lifestyle.

I am able to perform, teach and choreograph basic hula. I am not Kumu Hula. I am considered 'olapa, or dancer. It is not beyond my position of 'olapa to share simple hula movements. It is within the bounds of hula protocol to asisst in simple hula language, body movements and hula choreography.

I am familiar with hula basics, with the management of a group of dancers and with the presentation or ho'ike, in which hula dancers share their hula.

Costuming and flower placement are a part of every hula dancers kuleana and this is a part of hula that we all enjoy.
