My teaching philosophy is based on my belief that students learn best when inquiry is framed as an adventure and learning goals are rooted in discovery, fascination, wonder, and meaning-making. I believe that students' academic success and students' socioemotional development are inextricably linked. In my Student-Centered classroom, I am to create an inclusive, joyful, and engaging classroom culture where students feel secure asking questions, taking intellectual risks, and engaging in learning opportunities that spark the love of learning. My students are guided to see and value their own inherent genius in my robustly responsive and restoratively based classroom environment.
