Summary

My knowledge of bare board fabrication, electronics assembly, IPC standards and DFX concepts allows me to perform many aspects of product design and drive departmental philosophies with the aim of achieving zero defects. I have created and administered CAD libraries in several formats including 3D. My attention to detail during schematic capture has led to time and cost savings as I am able to identify errors that cause functional errors during bench testing. One of my main goals as a designer is to reduce bare board and assembly costs without sacrificing circuit performance, signal integrity or regulatory compliance. I am constantly seeking out new learnings in order to contribute, on increasingly higher levels, to engineering teams and my broad range of knowledge, and desire to help others succeed, has allowed me to function as a technical lead for CAD operators, PCB designers and engineering teams.

PCB design professional with comprehensive experience in circuit layout and optimization. Known for strong analytical skills and ability to deliver precise designs under tight deadlines. Reliable team player, flexible in dynamic environments, proficient in using design tools and ensuring quality results.

7Core & VPI Technology Group
05.2015 - 11.2015
  • Senior PCB Designer // Technical Lead // Component Librarian: PCB design, schematic capture and library creation (component footprint and logic symbols) using Cadence Allegro and Altium Designer.

Senior PCB Designer & CAD Librarian CID+

Control4 Corporation
12.2004 - 05.2015
  • Designing rigid, flex and rigid-flex PCBs for home automation equipment in a fast paced, time-to-market environment. PCBs were primarily complex multi-layer, highly constrained with dense, double-sided placements subject to stringent regulatory requirements. I have extensive experience laying out high-speed, digital and analog circuitry, RF, high voltage/high current power supplies and circuitry, HDI (including blind and buried vias, microvias and via-in-pad), controlled impedance, including DDRx, NAND, USBx, SD, MicroSD, SATA, and Ethernet/POE.
  • I developed internal processes, checklists and flowcharts for PCB Layout and CAD Librarian duties. As the sole designer for 7+ years, I was able to increase output while reducing dependency on service bureaus, thus keeping our CAD budget to a minimum. I coordinated and administered design reviews. I worked with mechanical engineers to define the PCB envelope. Earned an employee award for outstanding service.
